If their releases from the R/M vaults keep going the way of the Ghost of Red Baron and Phantom of the Opera, buying those old  molds was the wisest purchasing decision for a company since someone said "Maybe we could buy a machine that slices the bread before we sell it".

Dreams do come true. :D 24 of each ordered. :)

What is the deal with 'NOT SOLD TO THE PUBLIC' stuff???? WHY??? I'd think Atlantis would be willing to sell these little kits to anyone at anytime???

I could just lie and order them under my biz....but WHY???

Here's my latest. Came in the mail today. Used some glue. But, obviously no paint. Fun to built something quick, fun, and a little on the childish side from time to time.

They might just want to keep them for the "make and take" folks who will give them out to kids vs. someone who might try to re-sell them. This is just a thought, I have no idea what their actual intentions are.

A case of them is $72, and that makes them $6 apiece. So you can see where my logic lies.

Make and Take

Your math is a bit off. A case contains 24 kits. That makes them 3 bucks per.

Uh, no you couldn't. They aren't available to "businesses".

To whom the kits are available:

Please note we only ship the Make and Takes to IPMS Groups, Schools, Camps etc. Not sold to the General Public.

If you don't fall under the description of one of the above mentioned entities, you ain't gettin' them by the case at that price.

I don't and never claimed to. Carefully read my comment again:

Say, didn't you write that you wouldn't post on this forum anymore? :P :D

Whoops! I divided the wrong number! And yes, it would be even more profit for someone piecing them out.

I wonder if the Good Guys are aware of this offer? They have a make and take that is no longer using Revell kits, but AMT and MPC instead. These would be more of a hit with the kids!

Which is why the kits are not available for retail distribution. People like pretty boxes. :D

I'd be happy to buy one without a box. Why they do not offer retail sales is beyond me......sales are sales......my money is green....

Yeah, watch those "rare, vintage" kit prices nosedive like a kamikaze. :D

I'm crossing my fingers that Atlantis was able to acquire the molds for the '62 Dodge Dart 440, Dodge Lancer GT, Chrysler Newport Convertible, Valiant V-200, Imperial Crown and Plymouth Fury. Metalflake  (cool retro feature), gray, tan or white styrene re-issues won't matter. Since the early Johan and AMT MoPars will never be rereleased, the Revell kits are the next best thing.

I believe there is an issue where the tools for the tires and/or glass are missing from the '62 annuals which is why Revell was never able to do anything with them.  If I remember correctly, those kits used an odd tire.

The tires had a plug on the back with a hole in the center. The wheel covers had a toothed gear molded in so one could use H-1256:98 GO ELECTRIC POWER KIT for MOTORIZING 1/25 SCALE CARS

As far as the glass goes, I've test fitted different Johan '62 Mopar kit glass in the Dodge Dart HT and Plymouth Fury 4 Dr kits I have and they pretty much drop in. I would imagine that Atlantis could retool the glass if needed. They have done retooling on some of the old Revell aircraft to bring them back to their original condition. Also, they could incluse templates to cut your own glass from clear styrene  sheet. I made some using that method for the Dodge Dart because the glass included in the kit is for the Valiant V-200. Hexk, I should send Peter Vetri and Rick DelFavero the wheels,  tires and the V-200 glass so they can possibly make new masters and tools.
