A couple of goodies picked up at a local show:

The Heller kit I know... maybe not as crisp as the Fujimi, but it has a complete engine (and three different types of spring to wind on the provided jig), so I was glad to get it for £20. The T-70 is a nice production and very well presented. But I don't know much about it; the "Union Memorial Collection" kits are often Heller, but this one isn't. It's nicely detailed, and has a driver. Anyone know what plastic is in this box?

best,

M.

If you combine the two you can build this car from the Movie "Lemans" It was a Lola T-70 rebodied to look like a Porsche 917. you can see some of the original yellow body work in this photo.

The Lola was an IMC kit, like the '48 Ford and VW also reissued by Union.   I've read that it's a bit underscale, but I haven't checked for myself.

There was a full "Classic Kits" column in the other magazine a year or so ago, devoted entirely to this kit.  It's a good one....btw so is that Heller 917k.  It blew away the competition in some ways when that kit debuted in the early/mid 1970's.   Body fit, though, was a bit problematic.  Great source for "big'n;bigger" wide racing tires at the time, too. I’m doing the union Lola. Good kit but from the 70s I think . You will have to work at this kit. I do not know if it is undersized but it is fun to build and it looks cool. I put the kit wheels into the hrm tires. Using the rim from hrm and the centers from the kit. So far it’s a fun model.
