I have been trying to get this one painted for quite some time.  This is attempt #5.  I tagged this as "cheap paint" because I used Folk Art Craft Acrylic paint.  The color is Sequin Black, thinned with Createx reducer and some balancing clear mixed in to help with flow.

I need to wet sand some dust specks and then clear coat and polish, but at this point I am very happy with the results.

Your fifth attempt seems like you nailed it.

This is an interesting color. What color do you plan for the interior?

So far the interior is done. Black on black and some various dark grays.  A very purple shifter knob will match the accent stripe.

I will get pictures of the interior soon.

I just finished one of these a few weeks ago. I didn’t like how low the rear sits. You might want to put a few spacers between the leaf springs and the body.

Keep us posted with more pics. Looking real nice so far.

Very interesting! Just yesterday I bought some Folk Art "High Hide Matte Finish" Brushed Dark Gray Metallic, and today used it (brushed) on the 6-71 blower of a project I'm working on. I like how it looks,  and am planning to try to paint a whole car body with some of this Folk Art paint sometime in the near future. (I'll put it over a flat white enamel or lacquer primer, and clearcoat it with enamel or lacquer, though.)

That looks nice! I think all your efforts to paint it turned out great. I still haven't mastered airbrushing acrylic craft paint. I haven't tried using reducer yet. Just washer fluid. What ratio did you use?

I saw a black RR with large diameter 5 spokes driving around town a few days ago. Haven't seen it before but unfortunately it was headed in the other direction.
