To this, as I wanted to replicate DM's Yenko since it got out of my price range on the secondary market. The engine swap came from a scrap FM Chevelle. I had the complete build pics but somehow most of them vanished.

Very, VERY nice! I have two of the M2 '69 Camaros--a Hugger Orange Z/28 and a black Rally Sport. The orange Z/28 is on my shelf at work this month, displayed with the orange '69 Camaro on the Camaro 2019 Calendar March page. (Next month I'll display something else there.)

Are your engine, wheels/tires and decals from the Revell kit?

Looks great!   Wish I could find the patience and motivation to convert diecasts.  I barely get plastic kits built anymore - too much going on in life, not a bad thing though.  Some great opportunities out there.  Like this!

Thanks guys,Richard, the decals and wheels are from the kit, the tires are what was on the diecast. The engine is from a scrap Franklin Mint Chevelle.

Richard, that looks great along with the calendar pic.B)

B) Don't it, though! I've been doing this for about 3 years now. I buy the Mustang, Camaro, Corvette, and Musclecar calendars every October at Walmart, and every month I pick out the two that I have diecasts the closest to. Every once in a while I"m able to match three; have never been able to hit all four on the same month.

I just started this new job a few weeks ago, and just brought this one in this week (you don't bring your toys to work on Day One). Only brought the one since March was almost ever. I already have April's two picked out, and will be taking them in on Monday.

LOL, sounds like a great plan. I'd love to see more pics like that if you're up to sharing them.B):)

Awesome, I can't wait to see it. Thanks.B)

Just remembered, I have an older pic on the bucket. This is from two jobs ago, somewhere in the 2007-09 timeframe, my early days of diecast collecting, when my only source for them was the local gas station and Walmart, and I hadn't yet discovered the cool calendars to match them with.

Egads, I have three diecast Camaros already - the 2 DM and a  NAPA Crown Premium - all convertibles.   Several plastics.   I built the original Revell Yenko back in the day and several of the reissues.

The Crown Premium is interesting - apparently they didn't want to chance missing a sale so they put the SS stripes and the hockey stripe on it.   I didn't find one on the net with BOTH sets of stripes.  And I can't decide which set to remove.   Could remove them all and start over I guess.   Sorry - getting off track.

Anyway, glad to see the new Camaro.

Here's April's display. Calendar Mustang is a blue '69 Mach I, diecast is a blue '69 Boss 302 with bogus Trans Am markings, so I matched make, model, year, and color, but not quite subvariant. Calendar Corvette is a red '76 Coupe, display model is a red '70 AMT snapper with extry-added Snake-Fu, so I matched make, model, and color, but not quite year. Close enough! B)

New May Display!

Calendar Mustang is a '67 convertible in pale blue, blue interior, big modern wheels/tires. Diecast is a dark teal (maybe even green) '64-'65 convertible with stock wheel covers. So I made make, model, and body style, but not year or color. Calendar Corvette is a red '64 Roadster with '67 stinger hood and big modern wheels/tires. Diecast is a red '67 roadster with stinger hood and factory (non-knockoff) alloy wheels (ish), so I matched make, model, body style, and color, but not year (except for hood). Not my closest match month, but not horrible.

June display: Calendar Mustang is a red ’71 convertible. Model is a Testor diecast ’71 Mach I in black. So I matched make, model, and year, but not body style or color. Oh well.

Calendar Camaro is a black ’95 T-top. Model is an AMT ’93 T-top snapper (plastic kit) in dark metallic green. So I matched make, model, and body style, but not exact year or color. I DO have the same wheels, though!B)

Thanks JT, it was a fun conversion. The Punisher GTO I'm working on is a diecast build as well. It's a kitbash between a scrap DM GTO and the Testors/Lincoln Mint GTO. I've done several diecast rebuilds and love doing them also. Cool display Rich.:)
