NOBLNG Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 (edited) That looking darn nice! I remember my Mother telling us as kids about a 1:1 car that my Dad made into a truck. She would always start giggling when describing it. I don't imagine it looked any where near as good as yours does. Edited April 2, 2019 by NOBLNG
Oldcarfan27 Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 What did you use to glue the styrene to the acetate? Did you add reinforcements to keep the car from warping anymore? I want to do the same with some of the "banana boats" I have in my parts boxes. Great save of a hopeless case!
damodelguy az Posted April 2, 2019 Author Posted April 2, 2019 i use superglue, sometimes i put real thin sheet plastic behind, sometimes tree plastic crossways, on pilars ill use a thin piece of wire across all 3 surfaces glued on the back. i once glued a finishing nail under a hood area from fender to fender after i made some relief cuts, then filled the gaps with tree plastic. i like cuttin um up. thanx, good luck
misterNNL Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Great "how to" photos for giving these ladies a much needed face lift. The one photo actually indicating which direction you move the panels is especially thoughtful. Thanks for sharing.
