David G. Posted November 13, 2020 Author Posted November 13, 2020 Well, I got a little more done on this one, so here it is. This is the desk, office chair and telephone. I added a handset cord and supply cord to the phone. The desk was originally intended to have the drawers glued directly to its underside but I was going to have none of that. So I made and installed a lower portion that would capture the drawers and allow them to function as drawers should. The knobs are heads cut from from straight pins. The desk blotter is from an image I borrowed from an office supply web site which I printed out then backed with index stock. The chair is painted and assembled as straight from the kit. And here is the desk, phone and chair amidst all of its companions. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to comment. David G.
Anglia105E Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 That desk of yours is really good, David...... much better than the 1:24 scale desk that I made. Opening drawers ! Wow ! David

So you're using it like a 1:1 garage gets used a lot of the time? Got it. ? What is the finished size of that thing? Eye-balling it from the Charger, it looks to be about 4"x6"? Charlie Larkin

The Fujimi Garage however is only about 6" X 8" and much too small for all but the most petite of import cars. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and I do appreciate your comments. David G. Posted July 4, 2021 Author Posted July 4, 2021 Hello everyone! While I'm waiting for the decals to set on my Ford GT I decided to get a little more work done on my Fujimi Garage. This time it's the arc welder. I've already filed and sanded the sink marks on the cabinet and painted it. I've also done the detail painting on the panel. Basic stuff, so I didn't get any photos. The clamps are supposed to fit into the provided vinyl tubing via little nubs that that are cast on their ends. Given that almost every time I've relied on connections like this in this kit, they've failed, I've decided to make my own attachments. I've drilled out the handles on the clamps and glued in some wire. I chose not to use the vinyl tubing provided by the kit and stripped the copper out of a paired wire. secured the remaining insulation into the panel with the same wire that I'm using for the clamps. After cutting the wire connectors on the clamps down to about 3 mm in length I inserted the clamps into the other ends of the wire insulation. The fit was snug enough that I didn't need any adhesive to hold them in place. I also did a bit of thermocycling to get the welding "cables" to hold a more realistic coil. My ultimate plan is to make a hook so they can be hung on the side of the cabinet. I'm going to let them rest like this for a while so they can contemplate their future. That's all for now. Thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to comment. David G. 1
Bills72sj Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 I see you are back at it again. Thanks for sharing. I know you were following my diorama WIP. I am unsure if you got to see the finished project.

David G. Posted October 21 Author Posted October 21 Hello Everybody! I know it's been a few years since I posted any progress on this one. I've been going back to some of my unfinished builds and well, finishing them. Picking up where I left off on the arc welder.... Using a scrap of photo etch material I made a strap hanger and drilled it to accept a straight pin. After that I drilled a hole in the side of the welder's cabinet, cut the pin's length to about 5mm and glued the assembly in place. Here, after four long years, is the completed arc welder. As always, please feel free to post any comments or questions you may have. David G. 4
David G. Posted October 25 Author Posted October 25 Hello Everybody! I have another installment for the Fujimi Garage and Tools kit. There's a welder's hood that goes with the arc welder. I've painted it but there's no way for a welder to wear it. So using some strip styrene and wire, I've made some headgear... complete with ratchet adjuster! After painting the headgear and gluing it in place I removed a section so the welder can see what they're doing. The completed Welder's hood. With the safety equipment in place, the arc welder is ready to go. Here's the shop with the arc welder placed. It's starting to look a little crowded and there's still more equipment to build. I'm going to need a bigger shop! As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to comment if one wishes. David G. 4

Big Messer Posted Tuesday at 06:39 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:39 PM (edited) There is also the Italeri field tool kit to add more. It is 1/35, but tools come in many sizes... Edited Tuesday at 06:40 PM by Big Messer
dphipps Posted Wednesday at 05:52 AM Posted Wednesday at 05:52 AM Looks great! I've been eyeing up this Fujimi set. Does the hoist/crane/engine stand come with it? It's not on the box art but I see it in lots of pics online but haven't been able to confirm it yet.

Yes, everything you've seen in this post is included in the kit and a little more. I'm currently working on a floor jack. I'll be posting photos of that soon. But when you go to buy, be aware that there are two versions of this kit. One is "Garage Tools" which has just the tools and the other is "Garage and Tools" which has both. I hope this helps. I figured they were part of the kit but I'm surprised the bigger items aren't included in the box art
