Just finished one off and sitting at the bench looking at my handy work I got to thinking about the first kit in this series and all the different variations.

I think this one was first not sure which issue. Red top insert with a flat some what out law style hood treatment. Another interesting point, they all seem to have two names, a Boxtop name and then one on the car itself. So here we have the Street Fighter / BADNEWS.  Wheels change with each new reissue also. not sure about the engine Induction, everything else engine wise stays the same.

BAD Actor. another new hood treatment. This time it's a staggered NACA ducted hood. The large roof insert is gone and in it's place a smaller moon roof. Check out the full length front spoiler, no more chin whiskers.

We'd love to see it! Do you have it Under Glass? (I looked and didn't see it, but maybe I missed it.)

The Quicksilver version is tough to find now.  Wanting one but being too cheap to spend what they actually go for, I started piecing one together from a couple of junkers and a Street Fighter II.  With pieces from both bodies, mine won't have a sunroof OR that huge clear panel at the back of the roof.

Looks like that's when it got the round single headlights and radiused rear wheel openings, too.

Has anyone here ever tried using a narrowed portion of that roof to make a '59 sedan delivery from the AMT El Camino?

Some time ago I started a conversion using the roof on a Revell '59 Impala.  IIRC the AMT kit body is a little narrower than the Revell one.

.. QuickSilver version .. had the Gold colored felt for carpeting.

That's true.

Eek, my own MCM Quicksilver rebuild / mod WIP is running 4 years behind schedule. One of these days soon, I'll have to do an inventory of the leftover parts & body pieces from the gluebombs & half-builds I gathered over the last several years just to make one good keeper pile. Includes a complete hood/front fenders that I won't be needing, but I also need to compile a list of parts I need for trade. What I need and what probably every Quicksilver builder needs in the original decals in perfect shape, especially the silver foil panels. But, graphic artist that I am, an option is to redraw the panel decals with clear lettering, and apply the new decal over Bare Metal Foil. But guys with ALPS or similar style printers can print silver foil decals.

I kinda find it hard to believe that with all the posts I see of yours with pictures in them that you can't figure out how to post simple pictures of a build in the "Under Glass" section.

Very cool! I like it! B)

I think that's the first time we've seen a finished model from you. At least it's the first time I've seen one. Let's see more in the future! B)

Looks like a '59 was offered in resin a while back...
