imarriedawitch Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Do the rear slicks really stick out beyond the body as shown on the box?

stavanzer Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Well, smaller slicks might help with that aspect of the car.

Vega "wagon"; "Dragster-type" chassis; "Funny car" LOL. LoL! I was thinking of that when I saw the side box art. Did they have a special employee to distribute box art "quotes"? You see what I did there, right? LoL! The body appears too short, I assume to accommodate the shared chassis? I can see it, needs to be extended right between the rear of the doorline, to the rear wheel opening. On the roof, maybe a little further forward, at its highest point. Before you know it, your redoing the whole darned model!
Rob Hall Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Photos I've seen of the built up chassis make me think of a dirt sprint car missing bodywork or some sort of baja off road vehicle w/ different tires..very thick bars on the roll cage... it looks like an odd one..
Chris in Berwyn Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 As I recall those kits were popular when they came out. All us kids liked the odd bodies and huge slicks!

Acquired an AMT Vega Panel Funny car body, had a Revell '72 Vega funny car body in the parts stash. Had a MPC Soapy Sales Funny car kit I got on clearance from Hobby Lobby. Got out the razor saw and we start cutting. Wish me luck and patience. Edited December 22, 2020 by magicmustang
