BIGTRUCK Posted November 25, 2019 Posted November 25, 2019 (edited) A quick mock-up after gathering up parts and scratching out a few. This one us really being done "as we go" All the red parts are from a beater AMT LiL Gasser. The grey parts are AMT LiL Mixer. The lighting and roof lights are from AMT LiL Yeller bus rod. Engine is part AMT Lil Gasser and part Monogram Paddywagon. Front axle is parts box. Most chrome has been removed except front axle and wheels, and that could change direction, not sure yet about tires/wheels. Boom is from the Monogram Hangman. Had to make one suspension beam and a top for the bed. Edited November 25, 2019 by BIGTRUCK
BIGTRUCK Posted November 28, 2019 Author Posted November 28, 2019 As it always happens things went another direction..? but I like this better. Flintstone resin tires..duals on the rear instead of 4 slicks and mags.
gotnitro? Posted November 29, 2019 Posted November 29, 2019 Definitely like the wheel swap, it looks more in proportion now . Following
BIGTRUCK Posted December 7, 2019 Author Posted December 7, 2019 All the cutting and test fitting are done, final mock up before deciding on which way to paint it. Shiney, dull, rat, or shiney with old.
Draggon Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 That's coming along great. I like the wheel change too-makes it unique compared to your first version. The way it sits now I think shiny/blingy is not right for it, and rat might put it into "just another rat rod" category.
FredRPG Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 I agree with above ^. What about half way in between, sort of like a survivor turned hot rod?
OldNYJim Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 Oh yeah, that’s KILLER! Way cool! Love the wheels!
Fat Brian Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 This is really cool and makes me want to work on my 34 rat wrecker. One thing though, your valve covers are on backwards, the angled part goes in the back.

BIGTRUCK Posted December 10, 2019 Author Posted December 10, 2019 I could not find the plastic hang mans kit rope or coil of rope, so off to the craft store for some waxed thread in rope color. Bed pretty much done.
bobthehobbyguy Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 Great build. Excellent example of kitbashing a well executed project.
