Dave Ambrose Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 We are taking the site offline to replace a hard drive on Tuesday starting at 7PM Pacific. We should be back up in a couple of hours. During this time, neither the main site or the forums will be responding.
crazyjim Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Sounds scary. Good luck and thank you for taking care of us.
High octane Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Thanks for the "heads up" and for the repairs.
Anglia105E Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Good luck with the hard drive replacement. David
Dave Ambrose Posted December 2, 2019 Author Posted December 2, 2019 Thanks, everyone. The hosting company is doing the replacement. So far, they've proven to be very capable and competent. This is why we pay them the big bucks. I will be taking the forum offline a bit early so they can start on time.
Tom Geiger Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Thanks Dave for all you do! And nobody can say they didn't know with that big red banner at the top of the page! ?
Dave Ambrose Posted December 4, 2019 Author Posted December 4, 2019 Maintenance is done, and the drive is replaced. Went faster than expected.
afx Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Thanks Dave for your continuing work to keep the forum up and running.

Tom Geiger Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Thank you Dave! It's seamless for me. I even started out this morning by refreshing the page I was on (and left up in my browser) before the change.
Dave Ambrose Posted December 4, 2019 Author Posted December 4, 2019 Thankfully, it was the drive we use to store site backups. I downloaded the most recent backup yes, so everything went quickly.
