About four or five years ago, I discovered and started buying the Brown Trout car calendars at Walmart. At first they just carried the Musclecars calandar; later they started stocking calendars for Corvette, Camaro, and Mustang. I started displaying these at work, along with the closest diecast in my modest collection to the car of the month. (Sometimes I have to resort to a built snapper or curbside model kit, but for the most part I use diecasts for their durability.) Some months I’m able to get pretty darn close to matching the calendar pic; other months, not so much.

For those who came in late, this thread shows my calendar displays of 2019 March through December. For the new year I decided to get out of Geno’s thread and start a dedicated one.

I invite others to join me in this exercise. Do you have a car calendar of some sort you display? Do you have a diecast or built model that matches this month’s picture, or comes somewhere close? Post up a pic in this thread! I’ve gotten quite a few positive comments at work about these, too.

Here’s my first Calendar Display of 2020.

Calendar Corvette: 2019 ZR1 in orange (or perhaps red). Diecast: Motor Max 2019 Corvette ZRI in orange. Nailed it!

Calendar Mustang: 1967 Shelby GT500 in blue. Diecast: Johnny Lightning 1967 Shelby 500 in blue. Mine has black stripes instead of white, and the early center high-beams instead of the late wide-set ones, but otherwise, a near perfect match.

I doubt I’ll get this close again with both all year, but we’ll see what happens.B)

Oooo man, I like those Rich. I don't have the Vette but I do have the Hot Wheels 1/24 GT500 & the DM GT350. Looks like my GT350 has the same wheels.?

I just picked up one of the orange ZR1's over the weekend. It's pretty darn nice.

I thought it was pretty decent for the price, and it didn't need much Snake-Fu at all. B)

Sorry I'm late. Got laid off first of the month (my "3 to 5 week" temp gig finally ran out after 11 months :D) so didn't have the usual incentive, and then had to find a spot in my house to shoot the now-customary pics. But I'm here, finally, for February. Better late than never, or something.

Calendar Corvette: White '63 roadster with wheel covers and '67 hood. Diecast: Revell '63 roadster in red with alloy knockoff wheels. Close as I could get. I didn't even have anything closer in plastic.

Calendar Camaro: Hugger Orange (or, possibly, a non-factory bright red, definitely not '69 Garnet Red) '69 with white Z stripes and aftermarket wheels. Diecast: M2 Hugger Orange Z/28 with black stripes and Rally wheels. Pretty close. Ironically, was the Calendar Diecast that started it all for me here last year about this time. B)
