catpack68 Posted June 15 Posted June 15 Finished up the chassis and interior on the Revell 71 Mach 1 I’ve been working on this evening.Screwed up the paint on the hood. Gonna repaint it next week. 4
oldcarfan Posted June 15 Posted June 15 On a recent visit to CVS they had just replenished the Welly diecast stand. I got two of the 1/24 Jeep pickup with no plan for them other than they were too cool to pass up. Then I remembered this from Scooby Doo, so this is what I made out of it. 4
PatW Posted June 17 Posted June 17 (edited) Monogram Green Hornet 'T'. I have a life long hate for chrome plating, so I'm chilling out with this one! Edited June 17 by PatW 3
catpack68 Posted June 18 Posted June 18 (edited) Got some primer on the Hasagawa Toyota Celica LB 1600 GT body earlier this morning I’ve working on.I added a front spoiler and filled in the factory exhaust cut out on the rear valance. PatW Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Update: a few 1960 decals! As they were very old decals I rattle can sprayed them Clear Gloss, then cut them out very carefully before dipping them in very warm water! 3
johnyrotten Posted June 22 Posted June 22 Glued, primed and painted the engine, I think I found a pretty convincing color for holley carbs, we'll see after a bit of detail and wash. 1

Not a bad color, I definitely think the flake is to big for the carb, otherwise the actual pigment looks good.

Kinda my thoughts, it would be nice to find something locally that's the right color, no flake. My biggest issue with "metal" colors.
meechum68 Posted June 22 Posted June 22 I had to pack my hotel build.. the wind here is too brutal to do any painting. So it's now ready for the ride home (In my suitcase) and the stuff I am shipping is packed and will go out either tomorrow or Monday via ground UPS.
Straightliner59 Posted June 22 Posted June 22 I didn't take photos of the process, but I turned this wheel inner on my Sherline, from 1/2" PVC. It's a great size, to start with! It only takes a little from the outside, and boring the inside (with a bar, not a bit), and a little detail on the lip. I'll be using this, a lot, now, as I always have a difficult time finding proper ones in my stash. 2

meechum68 Posted June 23 Posted June 23 Well not work but sorta, I got my 3 kits and 7 cans of paint on the way home from Vegas. Kinda surprised myself, usually I ship 5-6 kits home. I may slip another 2 into my luggage, after I visit the shop Tuesday (they are closed tomorrow). 1
johnyrotten Posted June 23 Posted June 23 Trashed the work on the dash, sometimes you got it,sometimes you don't. 1

johnyrotten Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Fixed the sink hole in the dash and foiled it. Gets easier after the 4th time, lol
FoMoCo66 Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Scratch built some lake style headers from pla filliment and the ferrule of a paint brush for the SBF in my 32 sedan. Also made a distributor from sprue sence the kit one was a little to small for my method of wiring. The engine is looking pretty killer with the headers and the intake. I don't think I've ever seen a SBF look like this and its awesome! 2
johnyrotten Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Back on track. Little touch ups needed, enough dash work for today. 3
oldcarfan Posted June 26 Posted June 26 With the heat, I've lost my ambition. However, sitting on the couch with the A/C is not doing my ADHD any favors, plus my wife is binge watching Friends, first to last episode. She has a few left. For a break I went out to the shop, it's not too bad if I start the A/C early and minimize opening the door. No real plan, just seeing where my boredom would lead. At least with the temperatures and the low humidity paint dries fast.
