On a recent visit to CVS they had just replenished the Welly diecast stand. I got two of the 1/24 Jeep pickup with no plan for them other than they were too cool to pass up. Then I remembered this from Scooby Doo, so this is what I made out of it.

Monogram Green Hornet 'T'.  I have a life long hate for chrome plating, so I'm chilling out with this one!

Update: a few 1960 decals! As they were very old decals I rattle can sprayed them Clear Gloss, then cut them out very carefully before dipping them in very warm water!

Glued, primed and painted the engine, I think I found a pretty convincing color for holley carbs, we'll see after a bit of detail and wash.

Not a bad color, I definitely think the flake is to big for the carb, otherwise the actual pigment looks good.

Kinda my thoughts, it would be nice to find something locally that's the right color, no flake. My biggest issue with "metal" colors.

I had to pack my hotel build.. the wind here is too brutal to do any painting. So it's now ready for the ride home (In my suitcase) and the stuff I am shipping is packed and will go out either tomorrow or Monday via ground UPS.

I didn't take photos of the process, but I turned this wheel inner on my Sherline, from 1/2" PVC. It's a great size, to start with! It only takes a little from the outside, and boring the inside (with a bar, not a bit), and a little detail on the lip. I'll be using this, a lot, now, as I always have a difficult time finding proper ones in my stash.

It really does. I've finally started using both my machines, more often, over the last few years. Mostly just for basic stuff, like this.

Well not work but sorta, I got my 3 kits and 7 cans of paint on the way home from Vegas.  Kinda surprised myself, usually I ship 5-6 kits home.  I may slip another 2 into my luggage, after I visit the shop Tuesday (they are closed tomorrow).

Scratch built some lake style headers from pla filliment and the ferrule of a paint brush for the SBF in my 32 sedan. Also made a distributor from sprue sence the kit one was a little to small for my method of wiring. The engine is looking pretty killer with the headers and the intake. I don't think I've ever seen a SBF look like this and its awesome!20250625_125105.jpg.06e2a45ede798a0ec889ecd4e02825bd.jpg20250625_125113.jpg.350830783f4c64889ab9ad8b7ad17ea8.jpg20250625_125131.jpg.c80ac9f499840e341c68f1dc1c7fca26.jpg
