StevenGuthmiller Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 For those of you that have Amazon Prime streaming, you will love this show! It's called Tales of the Rat Fink. A quirky program about Ed "Big Daddy" Roth's life and career, with lots of old clips, cool cars, fun animation, and yes......models! It was originally released back in 2006 so many of you may have already seen it, if not, check it out. It's made for oddballs like us! Steve
GeeBee Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 It's a very good watch, even for someone like me that doesn't build hotrods.....
JollySipper Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 I watched a documentary on Ed Roth once that was hosted by John Goodman...... very informative and entertaining. Is it the same one?
SfanGoch Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 Same one, TJ. Really cool bio of Ed Roth. John Goodman is Roth's voice in the film. Big Daddy was unavailable for the documentary due to prior commitments.
JollySipper Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 Cool.... it was on cable when I had the chance to see it. I remember a segment with them showing Roth building models.... he said 'no wonder the kids enjoy building these, they get a buzz from the glue fumes'.........
SfanGoch Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 If tour cable provider was a widget button on the remote, you might have Youtube listed and can watch it on TV.
BIGTRUCK Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 R.F. was pretty good, I always loved this stuff when I was growing up. Another show on Prime is Mad fabricators society and Go-Kustom television.
espo Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 I used to have a couple of his air brushed sweat shirts that he'd sell at car shows in SoCal way back when.
Dave Van Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 I knew about the film....but thanks for letting us know it was on Amazon. I got to met Roth twice. Once when he worked at Knott's Berry Farm and had a little shack to the left of the Calico Mine ride. He had a few motorcycles he was working on. I was young and he was Roth......so interaction was not much!!! The 2nd time was when Revell had him at RCHTA in Chicago. Again not much interaction....but this time I got a signed note from him so worth the 30+ years wait!
