You get special cleaners for satin and flat finishes. I dont know how they would work on models but most detailing product manufacturers will probably have them. Maybe start on a bmw or hot rodclub site as they use more  satin finish so their owners might be able to help

I can't imagine using wax on a flat/matte surface.

Same here. It would seem to me that a wax is used to increase luster, not clean.

Carl, I use Armor All Cleaner Wax on Dull Cote. It will give it just a touch of shine. Almost gives it a satin look. I would think any automotive wax would work the same.

I’m a major user of Testors Dullcote and have never done anything more than dusted it off. In fact when I have decided to do final finishes that are primer, I use Dullcote to seal that in since bare primer will scratch and since it’s porous dust can get imbedded in it.

I've done the same thing, and it's a system that works well.

I didn’t know if fingerprints or oil from handing it would bother the finish...

I've been using Testor Dullcote for decades for flat finishes on model airplanes, and it's very durable, not vulnerable to fingerprints and whatnot.

I have used this with pretty good results.

Thank you. I would like to try that..

Try Tamiya TS-79 semigloss clear and TS80 clear flat. They are a much  more durable finish for handling.

Thanks I will check those out..

Thanks Snake, I have a can to try...

On the couple flat finishes I've done I've used Dullcote over the color. It seems to be less susceptible to skin oils and polishing from handling or riding in the box than just flat paint.
