Tom Geiger Posted January 19, 2020 Posted January 19, 2020 I like the Metalizers in the spray can. I use them a lot to give an engine compartment or chassis interest by using different metal tones. Often it's not the metal named on the can, but if it looks right.... I'm sorry to hear that they are going away. I've never tried the bottles.

Thanks, when I've gone to shops looking for Metalizer spray cans in the past 6 months, the spots in the rack have been empty. I had heard through this board (as rumors go) that they were discontinued. I'm hoping you are right!

However I did not ask about the spray cans. And he did state the disclaimer that Rustoleum does strange things so you never know for sure...
SfanGoch Posted January 19, 2020 Posted January 19, 2020 The spray cans are being discontinued. The only one listed on the Testors site is Aluminum Plate-Flat No. 1451. Metalizers Lacquer Sprays

Thanks man, I was was satisfied with it at the time. But after that one I saw the benefits of having good tools and products... it changed everything, as expected. I still use the craft paints for certain things and they are fantastic for terrain.
Rodent Posted January 19, 2020 Posted January 19, 2020 People give HPIGUY guff for using "hardware store paint" on his models, but I was intrigued by some of the metallics he uses. Rustoleum 2x metallic aluminum is amazing, and every bit as amazing as Metalizer IMHO. That is the only I have found so far but want to try the others as well.

I honestly watch Chris's video's regularly... Not because he's doing the most amazing of detail work or because he's taking great pains in fit and finish but because he seems to be having great fun, and alot of his builds turn out looking pretty darn good for what he does with them... and that's throw them on the shelf for his enjoyment. I sometimes wish I could take his "care free" approach to some models so I would actually get some done other than pain staking over minutia that really only matters to me... but unfortunately I can't. Just me knowing something isn't right, is enough to stop me. I praise the dude for "gettin it done"
randyc Posted January 21, 2020 Posted January 21, 2020 And like some of the others, I have a pretty large stash of ModelMaster paints that I would be willing to share. PM me and I'll see if I have it. We'll strike some sort of deal. Not looking to get rich, but if you can use it, that would be great.
