skinnyhoops Posted February 10, 2020 Posted February 10, 2020 Hello all, my name is Brad and i'm from central Florida. 38 years old here with about a month of recent model experience under my belt as of late. As a young kid I remember building the Revell kits back in the early 90s. I was even part of a mail order club I recall where they sent me models to make every month. Anyway so I'm still pretty new to this, and at this time I'm using rattle cans and brush for smaller parts/details. I'll look into airbrushing probably later on this year, it looks fun I started with Testors Enamel, moved on to Testors Model Masters Enamel, and now I've got a few cans of Tamiya lacquer to try. Most people seem to use Tamiya and I'm sure there's a reason for that. Today I received my Tamiya compound set and polish applicators. Never tried this before but I have a model I'm waiting to cure. It's a black Shelby GT, and I can't wait to see my reflection on her! lol So that's where I'm at now, thanks for reading! I'll be around and thank you everyone for creating what looks like a very active community!
ewetwo Posted February 10, 2020 Posted February 10, 2020 Welcome to the forum Brad. It's a good place to be.
Tom Geiger Posted February 11, 2020 Posted February 11, 2020 Welcome Brad! You will like the Tamiya paints, and a lot of us also use Duplicolor auto sprays.
JollySipper Posted February 11, 2020 Posted February 11, 2020 (edited) We're about the same age...... it good to show all the older guys that the hobby interests young folks, too.... Edited February 11, 2020 by JollySipper
