Mike999 Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 It is nice. I got laid off a few years ago. That was scary at first...until I talked to HR. I just barely got under the wire to qualify for early retirement and a pension. I was like: "What? You'll send me a check every month, to STAY HOME? Sign me up!"
SCRWDRVR Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 I can retire and take my pension in 8 years, I can't wait!!!! lol
oldnslow Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 yeah , being retired opens up all kinds of interesting opportunities for modeling , just have to stay focused and not stray to all the other things to do now . I started a big garden and it takes up most of my time now , haven't been in the model room in days .
hedotwo Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 Retired 4 years ago and right away built my log man-cave ? which has my shop and "home office".
Slimguy Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 Rich, now that is what I call a perfect home office...any pictures of what that cabin looks like in the winter?
espo Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 I now have cabin envy not to mention the sweet little '57 Bel Air.

Tom Geiger Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 Gorgeous! Everyone’s retirement dream, including the 57! I’m 61 and hoping to retire in another 5 years. And hoping that the current pandemic doesn’t affect my plans

hedotwo Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 We're maybe 10-15 miles south of Woodruff. My go-to Ace Hardware store is in Woodruff ?
espo Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 We used to have a saying about Wisconsin. They would have summer one afternoon in July. In reality these were very enjoyable summers but all to short. Great weather and great people.
espo Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 That's what I'm saying. They are short but sweet. I can remember wading in the lake putting in the piers the last part of June and there was ice around the shore line. The first part of August wasn't much better when we had to pull the pier out for the season. Either way you would be lucky to not chip any teeth you would be chattering so bad.
stavanzer Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 Leadville Colorado, has the same kind of Summers. My Dad's old college pal Frank, invited us to visit one year. He told my dad "Summer's going to be on a WEEKEND, this year!!"
