Plowboy Posted March 29, 2020 Posted March 29, 2020 I have an MPC '71 Chevy long stepside bed that I'm converting to a short stepside with pieces from the AMT '72 GMC. My issue with it is the chrome on the cab. I've looked at countless photos of Chevy stepsides and haven't found a single one that that has the chrome on the cab. So, my question is, was the stepside ever offered with the Cheyenne chrome on the cab from the factory?
Can-Con Posted March 29, 2020 Posted March 29, 2020 I'm not %100 sure Roger but just looking at the way the brochure is worded, it sounds like the body side and tailgate trim was only available on the Fleetside trucks.

That's what I'm thinking. Never seen one with chrome trim. Now, I gotta decide whether to make the side markers match or just remove them.
89AKurt Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 The 67-72 Chevy Trucks forum should be a huge help for you. The first and only look I did was a GMC with no stainless steel trim around the back of the cab under the window. The two trucks I've owned* were fleetsides, have* the trim. (* past and present)
