I began this a little truck a little while ago (I'm all ways busy so these kits normally take a bit for me to complete). The original idea was to make a vintage nastruck, but over time the ever growing interest of using a more non traditional engine in a stock car started to appeal to me. So instead of putting a v8 in the truck I kept the 4 banger. Now you might be scratching your head saying "man a 4cyl? How could you?" to which I say... "Turbo", the world's biggest turbo in fact. The idea came from one of the tips and tricks pages from someone who I can't remember. The solder turbo is scaled for more of a 1/12 scale model kit, but I decided that it would work in my 1/25th because nascar. Finally the kit has been lowered and raked, and the bed, rollbar, engine cage, racing seat, fender flares, front spoiler, and race trailer are custom built out of styreen. The Sunbeam tiger in the last photo is just another kit I built to display with this one, so the first picture is just demonstrating what the whole thing looks like together.

Nice build... back in the late 80s i had a friend that had a datsun truck with a 327 sbc in it, that little truck would do insane burnouts ?

Reminds me of my dad... just replace the truck with a square body S10, and the engine with a 350.

I might end up changing the photos, my phone isn't that good at pictures and you cant really see just how good and shinny the paint turned out.

My Roommate in the Air Force back in 1984 had one of these trucks with a 350 Small Block in it. It was a wicked truck.

One night he came back to the Dorm Room ,a little bit pale. I asked him if he was okay?

His answer, "At 110 mph, the front end get loose". I never rode with him again........

Wow that's intense! I once bent the brake mount arm on a dirt bike of mine, it came down and caught the manhole cover in the street, bike did a backwards wheelie. And I still ride that thing today.

Nice work and cool idea!!!! You may want to move that battery to the bed before hitting the track!!!

yeah but then you don't get the fun of a poorly tied down batteries coming loose and hitting you in the face, after Cheatus Mc Cleetus decides to ram you off the track.
