Styx231 Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 Hi I am looking for information on some cars I came across at my uncles estate. He passed and we find the models. I’m curious as to if they are worth any thing. I don have them listed on eBay. Lots of watches and views. Just curious what you may think. Definitely an interesting hobby for sure. There are some neat models out there. Thank im pretty sure the gold gto. Has some value. 4 screws. Maybe promo. And one I think is rat fink related. I’m not here to sell. Just want to now what I can get for them. Plus have a bag of parts to. I don’t want to just give them away. Need some money to help family.
falcon wagon Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 The GTO and the Cougar the teal color car are worth the most, may be $50 each, the others not so much. The grill in the parts pile is for the Cougar so make sure it goes with it.
Erik Smith Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 The 66 GTO promo in good condition is very valuable. I can’t quite tell the condition of yours, but it is missing the wheels. Top condition example with box could be over $400. The 67/68 Cougar is probably $40-60..? Maybe more on a good day. As mentioned above, make sure the grill goes with it. The taillights and front and rear bumper are hard to find if missing. It’s missing the firewall and the glass looks damaged, but parts from the 69 probably could replace. The 68 GTO funny car is cool and I believe MPC converted the molds to a 69, which is still readily available. I don’t know the difference. Looks like it’s missing some parts but $50 seems like a safe number to throw out. The others I don’t know. You can always search eBay for completed listings and get feel for the current market.
Tom Geiger Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 The dark red rod appears to be the Skipper’s Critter Ford Anglia missing the body.
Daddyfink Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 (edited) This post should be moved to General as it is not really a Trade post And No! Don't go posting it again in General, you already have it in Introductions Edited April 11, 2020 by Daddyfink

Snake45 Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 To back up the others: The '66 GTO is most complete, missing only wheels. It should bring on the high side of $50, could go a lot higher than that. The Cougar is also very desirable. With the grille--shown in the parts pic--going with it. I wouldn't be surprised to see that also bring over $50. Maybe WELL over. On the '68 GTO, I believe the missing taillight might be the little red part on the ride side of the parts pic. That brings its value up. But it's still missing the grille, which is a big problem. Hard to say what its value might be with the missing grille and the funny car chassis. It might be as much as $50, but I wouldn't bet money on it. Could go in the 30s or 40s. The '66 Comet Cyclone is a very rare and desirable model, but this one has been done with the custom/racing, not stock, parts. It'll have to go to someone who wants to restore it as-is, or rebuild it in pretty much that period style. Hard to say what it will bring. But just a couple weeks ago, I bought a '67--not QUITE as rare or valuable, but almost--in better condition and with all the stock parts (a great model for rebuilding) for under $35. The green '68 Shelby Mustang isn't worth much. The kit has been reissued many times and is readily available. IMHO you'll be lucky to see $10 for it. Hope this helps, and good luck with your sales. I might keep an eye on a couple of them myself.
Styx231 Posted April 17, 2020 Author Posted April 17, 2020 Thanks for all the info. This helps a lot.
keyser Posted April 18, 2020 Posted April 18, 2020 (edited) That Shelby looks like an original issue because of the separate red taillights. Not big value difference, but the glass changed after the Modern Classics series. No idea why. Cougar nice, all there mostly, can get chassis stuff, exhaust, firewall from 69 Cougar reissues that are pretty common. It has front and rear side marker lights it's a 68. You can see rear side marker in pic of the Comet rear end. The frame and pickup bed floor probably from the Revell Willys pickup. A bit hard to tell, but seems that is it. Skippers Critter Anglia is the bodyless red car, original issue molded in metallic red. Single axle trailer is from AMT 64 Vette I'd think. The Ford and CHevy trucks have the trailer that exists in some of the 3 car sets. Fireball 500 has a 2 axle trailer similar to that. Edited April 18, 2020 by keyser forgot
