Building the Lindberg 64 belvedere kit right now. So I go to apply a few decals like normal. Let them sit in warm water for 25 seconds then just sit there for 10 to loosen from backing and when you go to move the decal, it just breaks into a million pieces. Short of the story , Lindberg decals suck and are unusable !

That can happen with any model brand decal.. AMT and Revell are making better decals for models now bet until they are used it best to put them in something air tight.

Some decals i had to let sit in water for about 2 minutes before i could remove them from the backing paper without destroying them.
Try letting them sit longer before trying to move them, if they dont move out them back in and then try again 90% of them comes of with no problem.
Ony exeption are if they are already destroyed on the sheet then i just dont even try to use them, i could probably still use them but i dont want to piece them togheter if there are alot of cracks in them.

I tried dipping for a minute then set for 30 sec and when I go to slide off breaks in pieces. They seem really thin compared to revells

I've built the Lindberg '61 Impala drag car, (LOTS of decals!) and never had problem one with them. They handled quite well, in fact, and snuggled down with the clear carrier being almost invisible. I'd chalk your problem up to either age of decal sheet, or some prior exposure to excessive humidity/moisture/heat.

The shattered clear film on waterside decal is not manufacturer specific - it can happen to any brand decal.

Since you already tried using them, there is nothing you can do to get the ones you tried to use back to usable condition. But as Daniel has mentioned, decal with this type of damage can be saved (if the problem is discovered before trying to apply it).
