Can-Con Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 So, my Chrysler seems to be quite a success. How do I follow up? What could I customize that would have a similar impact? ? ,,, any ideas on what my next full custom build should be??
JollySipper Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 Do you feel like doing another MoPar? How about the '57 300 from AMT? I've been wanting to customize one of them for a while, just haven't gotten around to it.....
1930fordpickup Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 How about a Corvette all 70's wild with flake .

If I do a '57 next it might end up too similar to the '62. A good suggestion though.

Richard Bartrop Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 There's no shortage of Westergard style '36 Fords, but there were some pretty wild customs in the '60s based on them. There's also the '58-60 "Squarebirds"
Snake45 Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 There are a number of reissue kits of the '60s with their cool custom parts intact on the market right now cheap. Pick one and go for it! I'm planning to do two or three of them myself.
Can-Con Posted May 18, 2020 Author Posted May 18, 2020 All great suggestions. Thanks guys. Right now though ,, I'm thinking Adonis inspired '60 Galaxie. Not a copy but just with some of the design elements used.
Bucky Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 I think the 1960 Galaxie would be a great custom project! So far, that one gets my vote!
Vince Nemanic Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 How about RE-customizing a custom model? Bob Paeth redid an Orange Hauler back in the 60s, and a few people have built modified Monkee mobiles. Get a Tom Daniel or Barris kit and have at it!
stavanzer Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 My Vote, Steve? The upcoming Round2/AMT '63 Galazie. The Astro inspired Front End withy those huge double Headlights just begs to be built. And I've never seen one built with those parts. I'll bet that only one out of a thousand '63 Galaxie kits is even started using that Custom Front End.
STYRENE-SURFER Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 Steve... after taking a look at your Chrysler build I'd say you get the whole 50s 60s custom vibe. complete with Winfield style paint. What ever you do should be cool ?

Too bad we don't have kits of them. They looked like customs from the factory......
