  Does not melt plastic.  That's the only clear I use for my model car projects.

i searched it up and they make a few clearcoats, which one do you use?

I don't use any of those pictured.  The one I use is the brand Duplicolor, but it's engine enamel clear.  Works very well.  Flows out nicely and does not cause yellowing on white paint.

Ive been gravitating towards either Mr. Hobby brand clears or real auto body clears. SEM makes one i like.

Tamiya TS-13 is hard to beat.

Have been using the Dupli color 1k with pretty good results. Might have to give this a try, plus the price is less than 1k.

I find it interesting that this thread resurfaced after being dormant for 3 years.  Who knows, chemical formulations of many of the products discussed here (including the one which started this thread) could have changed over those 3 years. It seems that as the time goes by, things we use get reformulated faster and faster.

  The reason why this topic resurfaced was that someone asked a question about a particular clearcoat I used.  I just simply mentioned what I used.

I only buy Wet look clear, and I can say that I have had foaming from it. I find that if I shake it and let it settle, it comes out ok. Sometimes I give it a quick shake and let it sit for 30 seconds to a minute before spraying. Some cans do it, some don't, but if I let it settle, I have no problems. Shaking it seems to create bubbles in some cans. Not sure why.

Clear glossy coatings have no pigments or flattering agents so you should not need to shake  the can.  Maybe mix them for a while by holding them upright in your hand and using swirling motion.

I think you nailed the OP's problem. Don't shake the can with clears.

I'm late to the game here but I've been using the top enamel version of this for quite a while and have had no issues. It's also quite cheap (~$12 at canadian tire) for some reason which is unusual in Canada. I also shake the hell out of it and have never had an issue from that. I've also used the lacquer which worked fine but less sheen
