absmiami Posted June 13, 2024 Author Posted June 13, 2024 Ive glued an Evergreen “L” strip - filed back on one side - into the opening - 2 lines ran within the channel on 362 for oil - i think - because the oil tank on the 16s was mounted behind the fuel tank - most 16’s did not have this channel - the lines ran ourside of the body work - this may have been a mod done by Halford - the privateer who campaigned this car in ‘59 … anyway - its a neat feature … 1
Pierre Rivard Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 Fascinating fabrication work, replicating Chapman's innovative design. Strange that both Lotus and Ferrari introduced F1 cars with this unique engine position solution... the same year. Perhaps a bit of industrial espionage...
Bainford Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 Great work, and I appreciate the history and Lotus minutia as well.

absmiami Posted June 17, 2024 Author Posted June 17, 2024 First i had to make the vertical frame members that carried the rack …. The Tamiya steering rod is in place to mark the point of attachment for the rack ..
