In spite of continued negative speculation about the future of our hobby....see the attached article from the Chicago Tribune about the resurgence of model kit sales during the Covid 19 pandemic.

Includes a number of quotes from the President of Revell USA...

A tip of the Tim Boyd hat to Don Graham and Doane Yawger for the link posted above....TIM

I had heard this, think the same is happening in the R/C side too, between manufacturing and shipping delays and likely more time building, bashing, and rebuilding, there’s a lot of back orders for stuff I’m looking to get.

This is good, I do hope this is not just a flash in the pan and that people forgot how enjoyable (and addictive) this hobby is! I bought my 15 year old son a '64 Chevy, he enjoyed it so much he bought the 1978 Corvette pace car shortly after with his own earnings. He's now looking at the Christine Plymouth to do next. He's a proper gamer kid so I never thought he'd be into this hobby.

"The basic kits feature sleek cars, planes and ships you build by breaking parts off a plastic tree..."  ARRGGGGH!  BLASPHEMY! HERESY! ?

Thanks, great article.

I don't see the 2 Hobby Lobby's or the one Michaels by me doing the amount of sales described in the article.

It is the same stuff for at least  18 months. When I asked about new stock the Hobby Lobby manager said "they get what they get from corporate" I have bought almost one of each cars that they sell.

It is encouraging to see that Revell is so upbeat

Thank you for sharing.

Congratulations!  Glad to see you’ve successfully inspired a convert. Well done.
