ewetwo Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 I built one of these as a kit. I don't understand the bidding on them. Anyone explain it? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Revell-Imperials-Lowrider-Club-Robert-Espinozas-1958-Chevy-Impala/402506979559?hash=item5db74918e7:g:kZUAAOSw-sNfkMas
ewetwo Posted October 28, 2020 Author Posted October 28, 2020 I don’t know Ray but as soon as I can figure out EBay. Mine will be listed. Lol.The one in the listing is already built. Mine was a kit. Must be the extras that come with the kit.
cobraman Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 Listing is pretty simple David. Just make sure you list in the right catagory, give a good description and some good photos.Try it , you will like it. I have sold several items without problems. make sure to charge the correct shipping charge so you don't short yourself. Good luck 1
Dave Van Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 One guy really wanted it....he bid early and often. It's a low rider kit and different than the regular Revell 58 Chevy. $58 is far from outrageous ......more than I'd pay but I have my Revell 58.....
randyc Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 They can be found for less. I think I might have paid $30 plus shipping for the CMW built up. I was looking at the plastic kits and they were similarly priced or higher. It's all in what someone will pay. If you look at sold listings, this one is probably near the most expensive. And there are probably some cheaper ones as well. As for selling on ebay, it's simple enough once you get the hang of it. And if you do it regularly, you can reuse your listings. Change title, photos , and description. I can do a listing in about 5 minutes or less once I take pictures. And from start to finish with photo taking, it's about 7 minutes per listing. And that's using my Android phone. Easier for me to do photos on phone, then add them to listing. BUt don't set your expectations too high. You may be disappointed that you don't get the "dream prices" that you see that make it look so attractive. Win some, lose some.

ewetwo Posted October 31, 2020 Author Posted October 31, 2020 I got it. it's because it is the Robert Espinoza's Low Rider's Imperial Club. Much more detailed than the other 1958 low riders out there. Came with an easel with the Imperials plaque.
ewetwo Posted October 31, 2020 Author Posted October 31, 2020 As far as Ebay and Shipping. How do you get around the shipping that Ebay and PayPal want you to use. My neighbor got burnt a few times because Ebay said shipping was way less for her item than it actually cost her to ship. Thanks for the info everyone. This might be my first Ebay listing. LOL
cobraman Posted October 31, 2020 Posted October 31, 2020 I just set my shipping price in the section where it says fill in your shipping cost. Fill in the blank.
Rodent Posted October 31, 2020 Posted October 31, 2020 I use the evil eBay shipping calculator and print the labels. Most of the kits and other things I have sold have gone to the other side of the US, but I sold a JoHan to someone about 50 miles away. Wouldn't have been fair to charge him the $14 it was costing to send stuff to the East Coast. The eBay calculator takes distance into consideration.
ewetwo Posted November 1, 2020 Author Posted November 1, 2020 OK. Thanks guys. The clerk at the post office told me to start using Pirate.com for mailing. She said it's cheaper than using USPS and the standard size box weight rises to 15 ounces instead of the 13 ounce limit the USPS has.
Geno Posted November 4, 2020 Posted November 4, 2020 (edited) Mine is the CMW model as well, I just disassembled it and detailed it and added the antennas. They got it better than DM did. I hate the droopy arse on the DM model.? Edited November 4, 2020 by Geno

HotRodaSaurus Posted February 25, 2021 Posted February 25, 2021 I wondered in the 1/1 world how popular were the 58s compared to the Tri Chevy's until American Graffiti came out? I have read quite a few old magazines but even though there were a few customs the 58 year model appears to be in the minority, where as Tri Chevy's seem to be featured ever since. I bought a die cast at the time as I tried converting an AMT but my fogging solid and as straight as Dorothy's Yellow Brick Road
