Hello all, I'm getting to build a buddy's car, a 1976 Gran Torino that had buckets seats I'm using the S n H model but that has bench seats, so what would be a good choice of buckets seats and console ?  Thank you for your help. Rick

The only ones that would be in the Ford line that is in model from would be the AMT 71 T-Bird or the 73 AMT Cougar or if you can get your hands on a JoHan 72 Gran Torino.

Were those low back with separate headrests or the high back like in a Mustang?

By 1975 they would be low-back with a separate headrest.

Thank you all for your replies, sorry Steve I don't remember this was back in 77/78 and I was 15 at the time so  I just remember that it was Black with Black interior with cragar SS mags, again thank you all for taking the time, Scott thank you that narrows it down for me,

Thanks Keith, That's It,  wow that brings out a lot of great memories, the four of us back in 77/78 cruising around listening to Judas Priest Unleashed in the east, on 8- track,  Great times back then, his name is Keith also,  again thank you.

Those look a lot like early Mustang seats but with different inserts.

If it were me, I take a set of 1/24 Monogram '65/'66 Mustang seats, cut the inserts out and make new inserts cut from the Torino bench seat.

As for the console, closest I can think of would be one from an early Fox Mustang. The MPC kits had separate ones but hard to find now.

I like Steve's idea for making the seats, and think that would work reasonably well. Alternately, you could cut the center out of the bench seat, and fabricate ends using Evergreen sheet. As for the console, That's a pretty simple shape once all is said and done. You can make that with a couple of pieces of styrene stacked, and then sanded to shape. If the lower part of the center was recessed, you can make the lip with small strips. Once assembled, paint.
