Craig Posted November 25, 2020 Posted November 25, 2020 This is AMT's 88 Mustang GT. I built this one as a film student's car from the 1980s. As I was a film student in the 1980s it is inspired by true events. However, I didn't own a Mustang back then, I was driving a 1980 Monza. Anyway, this was a fun build, weathered with artist pastels. The only issue I have with this kit is the headlights. I stripped the chrome off and painted and weathered them. It's a shame it doesn't come with clear headlights. Ah, well, I'm happy with how it came out, and I hope you like it too.
Captain Spaulding Posted November 25, 2020 Posted November 25, 2020 That looks great, love the weathering.
vamach1 Posted November 25, 2020 Posted November 25, 2020 Looks very realistic. Did you apply techniques from experience from weathering military models.

Not really, the only military models I've built are aircraft, and I've never weathered them too much. The Mustang was a lot of trial and error, things I've picked up here and there, and looking at pictures of my own car after a drive on a sloppy winter day.????
youpey Posted November 25, 2020 Posted November 25, 2020 its a cool looking model its so weird to me that cars from when i was a kid are now considered classics. getting old snuck up on me. i remember the days of looking at cars in the used car lots, dreaming about the 5.0 GT. this model brings up a lot of old memories
Scott8950 Posted November 25, 2020 Posted November 25, 2020 Very nicely done. I noticed it has 84-86 halo headrest seats, did you add those or do they come with the kit?

I just thought these were more interesting looking.????
Dragonhawk1066 Posted November 26, 2020 Posted November 26, 2020 Great weathering, it sure looks the part.
