TransAmMike Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 Didn't realize that about this being a resin body only. Great work tho!!
afx Posted December 23, 2020 Author Posted December 23, 2020 Porsche used the slide valve intakes on the RSR which boosted output +20HP. Fujimi's RS 3.0 kit includes the high butterfly intake. Not aware of the slide valve setup being available in scale so I will make an effort to fabricate a reasonable replica. Kit parts I'm starting with: Modified: Added the twin plug/twin coil alternator fabricated some basic linkage Fuel pump tilting to one side just as Porsche mounted it on the 1:1

afx Posted December 26, 2020 Author Posted December 26, 2020 Added supports across the opening. Cut out a PE screen insert. Lost the small resin grille that comes with the wing so I cut down the Fujimi piece.

afx Posted May 25, 2023 Author Posted May 25, 2023 Trying to get my workbench back in order to continue building this. 3
Pierre Rivard Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 Thanks JC for chiming in and bringing this one back to the top of the page. It allowed me to spot this build which I was not aware of. I love builds starting with a few key components and requiring imagination and lots of scratch building to achieve the final results. This one is exactly that. Thanks for sharing, definitely one to follow with great interest 1

Hey JC...I'm building the Marty Robbin's 34 ford 5 window Modified that's on the cover of the "DEVIL WOMAN" album in 1962. That album and 1 pic I found on the net is the only pics I have of the car, for reference. But....I was around racing (dirt) in the 60's and with helping on the local scene, I can get a facksimily(sp?) of his car. I've got most of the fab work finished. Now, It's getting close to primer time. Thank you for asking JC!
