1964 Impala Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 I'm curious, does anyone know if stock Model A rims and tires from another kit fit either the Monogram or Revell 1931 Model A Sedan Kits? I'm hoping to replicate my grandfathers sedan which was totally stock. Thanks, TR
Mark Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 You want to find the reissue of the stock Revell woody wagon. It was originally issued as a "build it either way" kit with both wagon and sedan bodies, and stock and custom wheels and tires. For some reason, Revell has always reissued the wagon with only stock wheels/tires while issuing the sedan (sedan delivery for a while) with only custom wheels/tires. You do not want the 1/24 scale woody with the Chevrolet engine. That is a totally different kit.
Dave G. Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Personally I'd look for a Minicraft sedan, it's all stock and 1/16 scale besides. Be careful you don't land a sedan delivery though, they made both. Just my opinion,.
1964 Impala Posted December 4, 2020 Author Posted December 4, 2020 Thanks for your advice, it is much appreciated. I'll look for the woody kit. I'm only 15, so I'm working with a tight budget. Thanks Again, TR
peteski Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 T, If you're on a tight budget post your request for the wheels in the Wanted section. Maybe someone has some spare Model A wheels they don't need. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/forum/24-wanted/
1964 Impala Posted December 4, 2020 Author Posted December 4, 2020 Thanks, I may have to post in that section.
Casey Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 Here's the instruction sheet for the 1/25 Revell 1931 Ford Woody kit Mark mentioned. While not a great look, it should give you a better idea of what to look for, and what the stock wheels and tires look like: https://modelkitreviews.proboards.com/thread/285/revell-1275-model-woody-tudor Here's the most recent reissue from an eBay listing:
Mark Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 That is the most recent issue. The artwork is from the original issue kit, with the sedan cropped out!
1964 Impala Posted December 4, 2020 Author Posted December 4, 2020 It's a shame they removed it from the kit, I rather like the sedan.
