Oldschool297 Posted January 4, 2021 Posted January 4, 2021 My father bought some old models both finished and unfinished. I wonder if anyone knows how this would look? The front seems strange but suits.
restoman Posted January 4, 2021 Posted January 4, 2021 I built that truck a long, long time ago. As I recall, it looked pretty decent, at least to the teenage kid I was when I built it.

keyser Posted January 4, 2021 Posted January 4, 2021 Built up on box art. There was a tow truck version and people made fire rigs out of them too. Fair fit but with effort looks ok.

Really, wouldn't mind having another one to do up with current techniques. Mike, I bet you're around 55, give or take? ?

Russell C Posted January 5, 2021 Posted January 5, 2021 Basically a mid 1970s Chevy pickup stepside, but with the custom front end. Never saw if this was based on a 1:1 custom truck. My one gripe with the kit is that if it was supposed to mimic a Peterbilt truck, it should have had the headlights in pods coming off the radiator shell. I wonder if the 32nd scale headlights from a Monogram Freightliner might be size-appropriate for this kit to get that Peterbilt look. I'd think the lights from the 25th scale AMT Peterbilt would be too large.

JJ Deuce Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 this was one of the first kits I got when I was a kid (4-5 years old). I don't think my dad and I ever completed it. at some point I'll buy one and build it just to say I did. I agree about the headlights. Seems more like KW lights in the fender.
BuilderX Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 Yes I had that kit when I was young wow that brings back some memories!
