progplastic Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 I haven posted in this forum for a few years now. Life etc.. The amount of talent that is here now is mind bottling.. ( VGG ). Anyway, I had picked up a couple resin '37 Willy's pickups off eBay on the cheap years ago. I had planned on building a version loosely based on the Silver Dollar Willy's Gasser pickup. The project never took off and there the resin sat on my self while l did other builds for eBay. A couple months ago l decided l wanted to build a Willy's Gasser, but l just wasn't "feeling" the truck version any longer. So, I chopped off the front fenders off of one of the resin trucks and put them on the AMT 1940 Willy's Coupe. Here is where I am so far. I hope to have it complete and for sale on eBay buy the end of January. Thanks for looking all comments are welcome. Jim

Mike Williams Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 Jim U, I like what you're doing with the Willys '37 front end, a great new approach. Suspension seems correct too, looking just fine! QUESTION please; how did you do the gray-looking finish on the rear wheels of the Willys? They look a lot like this type of finish, just I haven't a clue on how-to. I'm looking for a dark and unpolished Halibrand magnesium wheel finish....like this; Your wheel appears to be the right direction....thanks.
TransAmMike Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 Two great looking "old" race cars Jim. Cool?
