When I taped off the rear section (It's raw fiberglass on the real car), the tape pulled off some of the paint. I must have missed those spots when I washed the body. No time for elaborate fixes! I'll flow a dab of Mr. Surfacer into the divots and shoot a little more gold over it, and move on. Headers are painted...As always, questions, comments and critiques are welcome. Thanks for looking!

May have simply been too strong of tape, did you use like Tamiya tape or washabi or whatever it is called? Less "cling" to them. Asie from that, with the panels on that car the way they are, you may be able to just hit that square area with the next coat.

It was a roll of tape that, as I recall was made by Dubro, or some other RC model outfit. I stuck it to my t-shirt before I applied it, to reduce the tack, although it really isn't too sticky to begin with. Oh, well. I'm going to dab paint in it and call it good. Here are the headers, installed.

I have looked at this kit on Flintstone's table at toy shows and this thing is a real beast of a solid block of resin. I do have a Chevy Astro van that is the same way. I'd grind out the inside but that would take about a week! Looks like you will make the 24 hour deadline with no problem. Thanks for posting a WIP of a car that few modelers have ever seen up close.

I always hold my breath when I am removing tape from a paint job.

I do, too! I must have been  holding my mouth wrong, this time! ?

You are correct about that, Tom! It could double as a billy club, for sure! Yeah, something like this, or your van just need to be slammers, basically. They can still be made interesting to look at, though! This was the second of these I've built!

Very cool. I had no idea this kit existed. I must look into this.

Your build is coming along nicely, though too bad about the paint woes. This model will look so cool on the shelf. I got a chance to check out the 1:1 back in 2000, an impressive machine.

Thanks, Trevor. You can see the completed model, in Under Glass! It's a bit tricky, painting an entire project in under 24 hours! I am sure it must be quite a sight to behold. It's such a beautiful car.
