I am getting ready to build my Trumpeter 65 Ranchero and have heard there are some obstacles to overcome.  All input on these would be appreciated.

TIA,

Sam

That was no review Casey,  that was seven pages of trashing the model. The first actual part shown was 4.5 pages in, and the discussion only showed three different parts. Only the posts with the pictures actually came from people who bought it.

I did some mods to my Sprint build that I thought improved the overall look.  They could also be applied to the Ranchero.

I built one(street rod version)and loved it. It went together great with NO parts fit problems, and looks great when finished. I'm not one of the typical nit-picking rivet counters, but I know what a 65 Falcon looks like, and that's what this model looks like. I'm looking for another one, would like to find a Ranchero.

Dave Darby took and shared many photos (which are still viewable via his fotki account), and there was plenty of commentary of the good and bad-- windshield curvature, oversized/non-stock rear wheel tubs, etc.  Those read like obstacles and hinderances to me. ?‍♂️

My apologies Casey.  Your help in directing me to different discussions has been invaluable in the past, and you are so quick with the help. I am not directing this at you in any way shape or form. It was the majority of posters that didn't even have one in their hands yet that bothered me,  and I am sorry,  but pulling out blue prints,  and nit picking every little discrepancy, I found very irritating. I am sorry that it showed in my post.

One issue I recall is it has the gas door on  both sides.

I looked at mine and you are correct.  lol

Glad to hear the fit is good.  Never fun to run into an unexpected issue when you are just about finished.

Thanks JC, I find your build thread very informative.

My apologies

Not necessary. There's a lot of...stuff to plow through in that topic, but I did go through it before I shared the link. I think it's just one of those underwhelming and slightly disappointing kits which mot people passed on. I looked one over last week, and those rear wheel tubs really turned me off, though the generic-ness of the chassis/floorpan wasn't quite as bad as I remembered it being. It looks like a Falcon when built, but many of the details just aren't there. It seems to suffer from that computer driven design work, similar to how some of the Moebius Ford pickup parts are too squared off, when they should have rounded, graceful curves.
