I tried scribing the panel lines and washing them in black.  May have been too dark.  Going with a custom yellow on this one

Super happy with the way the paint laid down. Can’t wait to polish this out.

The wash looks about right to me. Are you going stock or custom? That is a great kit, I've done two of them and have two more to build.

I’m not sure of my direction yet.  I’d like to get the body done first, and think that will lead the way.   Your Trans Ams are looking great!  I picked up the 1/16 79 TA today

I think I’m going to go with kind of a sleeper look on this kit. I finished detaining the grill

And am working on the engine

Cool start, that yellow looks almost exactly like GM's Butternut Yellow on my screen. It looks nice on the Z!

Thank you.  The Butternut Yellow was what I was going after.  I think its going to look good with white Super Sport stripes.

Great start Chaz my friend. You sure are getting a "production line" going on model builds!!  I assume that plug wire question on the other thread is maybe applying to this build. You know where to PM me if you need any other help with that.

Thanks Mike!  I saw your response in the other thread.  I'm gong to have to look around to see if I have an appropriate drill bit.

Slow progress, but moving forward!  I tried to polish the body too soon, and had to strip and repaint.  It happens. Right?

i have the engine built, I was going to try o wire this one, but still waiting on the drill bits

Thats coming along great Chaz. Very nice job on the engine. Sounds like you ordered drill bits. Trust me, they come in handy for a whole lot of applications.

Thanks Mike,  I’m having problems with the paint. Buffed through to the plastic on the hood. I think I’m going to re coat the body in future again and let it sit before I try to buff it out again. Always learning....

I'm not sure,  I will have to check the bottle when I get home.  I do know I bought it at Hobby Lobby

These are nicely detailed kits throughout. Nice work on the engine and I feel your pain about buffing through the base coat as I've done it more times than I care to remember.

image.jpg.7b8ec0adff3213e6c7ca1801fd90b1fd.jpgSlight progress update.  I have all the sub assemblies finished.  Re coated the body with another coat of future and stripped and repainted the hood.  I’m going to let these sit for a week or so before I try to polish them out

I painted the GT350 with the black Anita's paint. I'm beginning to think it's the best of the craft acrylics, and pretty sure actually the cheapest at HL.

Go for it Chaz, gotta start sometime buddy!!  Look at the tread in"Tips, Tricks and Tutorials".  But I gotta say, I do it the opposite. I lay the tape down as a guide first, foil over it, trim along the edge of the tape then peel off the tape.  Don't forget to burnish it down good tho.
