AMT '53 and '55 Corvette Powerglide transmissions - same part or different?

Hi again! Are the Powerglide automatics in the '53 and '55 Corvettes the same? I know one is for the six and the other is for the V8, but did AMT use the same part on both?

Doesn't one of the newer Revell Tri-Five Chevies have a PG?  Not sure which one off the top of my head, but as I recall it also includes a stick transmission also.

The original monogram 55 ragtop has a powerglide.

The Revell '57 Chevy Black Widow has two engine block & transmission options in the kit. The Black Widow block has a 3 speed manual transmission and the kit also has a small block with a Powerglide.

Not sure what exactly the original poster wants a PG for, but keep in mind that the Fifties kits all have the early cast iron version, not the later aluminum one which would be better suited to a performance application.  The cast iron version is strictly for stock versions or Stock class drag cars where the OE transmission would be required.

That's what I need it for - AMT '55 Bel Air sedan - not a racer, just a mild custom streeter. Also for the '55 Nomad, which will be much more of a custom, if I don't go with some other engine (348 or Caddy).

The aluminum case Power Glide came 1962 so up to then the case was cast iron.
