Rattan

Thinking about do a Surf Woodie Model T with Rattan instead of wood. Any place I could find some 1/24th scale Rattan ?

I don't know of anywhere but here's a site with loads of pics of rattan. You could pick one and print it off in a suitable size on decal paper.

I've done that before to make plaid seat insert decals.

Once, I noticed that when I let some 2k primer dry in a paint strainer, it filled the small voids and looked very much like scale rattan.

Another modeler sent me a small piece, found in the fabric store.

I simply glued it in place and bordered it with scale rope.

I think I remember a modeler using dental floss to simulate wicker seats, but I’m not sure the minty kind would be the best choice!? Perhaps using tea for tinting?

Cloth might be a good start, like a fine weave burlap, or something similar.  Maybe cheese cloth?

Maybe check out the places that sell dollhouse furniture.  There might be something that works.
