The Molotow needs to go on fairly heavy for best results, and like everyone says, needs a lot of time to dry unless a de-hydrator is involved. It can be sprayed over pretty much any clean, smooth surface with no problems straight from the pen/refill into the airbrush cup. Barbatos Rex on youtube has a video on the stuff and lots of other tests on paint/primer in videos, very good and informative channel. I did these rims, although I ended up not using them after bending one while putting it on the tire, for a project. I could've/should've laid down another coat, but the results are pretty good otherwise. The first rim was over bare plastic/resin, the other four over gray primer.

I bought these two Molotow 30ml refills at the same time and from the same vendor about 18 months ago and the one to the left was about 2/3 used and the one to the right  had never been used.

Both have always been kept together in a cool dark place and both have kept the same consistency.

As the photo shows when I went to use it today the previously used refill on the left has gone off and become just a silver paint. No amount of stirring or shaking has any effect.

It would be best to buy just what you need and try and use it all  up promptly.

I haven't noticed any deterioration to date on  items I have airbrushed with Molotow in the past

I keep my opened ones in the fridge as heat affects them too, and once the molotowe has been opened, the air that gets in causes the reaction in the chrome. It can still be used in the revell acrylic paint though as a mixer to get metallic colours. For example those small pots of aluminium revell give you in the starter sets, when they get down to half full i top them up with old molotowe and I have polished aluminum colour, or can be used to give a dirty look to already cleared chrome. Sure its not chrome anymore but it can still be used for other stuff
