FLHCAHZ Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 I had a lot of fun with this kit I was hoping it would turn out a little nicer, but I think its OK I should have spent some time on the body before painting and done more test fitting as I went, oh well- next time the kit is OK, but the fit and finish are lacking, the shaker hood scoop didn’t like up with the hole in the hood (probably my biggest gripe) and the drivers side seat hits the door when trying to close the door. The side mirrors are awful, there is no way that I could figure to get them attached and have the straight. The rad hoses in the kit are too short I did get more detailed with this build such as adding plug wires and gauge faces.
TransAmMike Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 (edited) ALLLLLLLRight Chaz!! Looks great? Just a suggestion for the readiator hose....you can use an adequate size shrink tubing. Some other suggestions may come to you from forum members. Edited May 24, 2021 by TransAmMike

Thanks for the thumbs up. Coming from someone with Trans Am in their name, it’s a big deal!
TransAmMike Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 Glad to help. The First of 4 TA's (actually one was a Formula) I have owned was a '79. 41 minutes ago, FLHCAHZ said: Good idea! I have lots of that stuff. Thanks for the thumbs up. Coming from someone with Trans Am in their name, it’s a big deal!

Dragonhawk1066 Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 Good job! I have this one as well, but won't build it until I have a place to display it. I'm curious if it fits back in the box when done?

doorsovdoon Posted May 29, 2021 Posted May 29, 2021 Beautiful looking build, very cleanly done. I really like the interior, the way you shaded the door cards and seats, very nice.
AMT68 Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Very nice build and gold is always a great choice on these Firebirds. I like the gold paint on the wheels and eventually when I get around to building mine I'd like to do the same treatment.
