Zippi Posted June 1, 2021 Author Posted June 1, 2021 Thanks Carl. I'm trying to improve on every one I build.
bisc63 Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 If the rest of the build shows as much care as that engine, it will be a stunner!
Zippi Posted June 2, 2021 Author Posted June 2, 2021 Thanks for the comment Rusty. Like my granddaddy use to say.....hope for the best and expect the worst.
Zippi Posted June 3, 2021 Author Posted June 3, 2021 (edited) I got some of the front suspension other parts in primer yesterday and painted this morning. Not moving fast on this one. Edited June 3, 2021 by Zippi
slusher Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 I don’t move fast either but when everything is painted..

Zippi Posted June 3, 2021 Author Posted June 3, 2021 (edited) I elected to put the decals on the rotors against my better judgement. Decals and me go way back and we are not the best of friends. With that being said.....I think they turned out ok. I'll paint the inner part a flat steel. Update: after putting the wheels and tires together for a trial fit you can't even see the decals on the rotors. Oh well, they are on there. Edited June 3, 2021 by Zippi
Painted Black Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Hey Bob, engine is looking good, rotors look good, what color will it be? I'm building this same kit right now, and it is a really easy build with things fitting so well. Will be watching...

I bought this kit some time back just to use the body for paint test, panel line test, etc. It's been painted about 5 times and there are cuts in the body from trying to scribe the panel lines. The body currently has been airbrushed with Taimiya X-10 Gun Metal but not cleared. I've been waiting for HL to get these kits back in stock so I can get another body but it hasn't happened yet. May just spray the body with Tamiya TS-13 Gloss and be done with it.
Zippi Posted June 4, 2021 Author Posted June 4, 2021 Thanks Carl. Ok.....moving along slowly and not much to report. I have the front suspension and engine installed.
Painted Black Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 Looks good.. did you use the lowering front suspension part?

Painted Black Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 Yes, that rear is a bit of a puzzle to get in,.,

Nice looking. For some reason I thought you were building the 65 Foose model. Not a ton of different between to the 65 & 66 to the average eye.

Zippi Posted June 5, 2021 Author Posted June 5, 2021 I went ahead and finished up the undercarriage this morning before the wife and I head to a local cruise-in. Not a whole lot of detailing but it'll work in a pinch.
Zippi Posted June 6, 2021 Author Posted June 6, 2021 I now have a rolling chassis. I have the bucket seats painted. Next step is to try my hand at bmf on the chrome trim around the seats.
