I've never seen one of these early Lincolns built with an up-top, so I

figured I'd give it a go and see what happens.

I got the body painted with  a Testors enamel, and then clear-coated it with a

Tamiya clear lacquer pearl, and then regular PlastiKote clear lacquer, then rubbed it out.

I'm having fun with the foil, but this old boat has a ton of chrome, so I do as much as I can,

and then walk away for a while, and have lunch or something, and come back to it later when

I'm in the mood. These "RAZOR Straight lines are so challenging, and there are so many.

Ya gotta have a sharp blade and a steady hand, and a lot of patience?. There is a lot more foil ta go.

There is a technique that I use that helps keep those long pieces of molding as straight as an arrow.

It involves placing a piece of foil over the trim, burnishing down the edges and then laying thin pieces of blue painters tape with the edges straightened with a straight edge along the sides of the trim.

The tape gives the blade something to ride against as you cut giving you nice straight cuts and the blue color of the tape gives a contrast between the blade and the tape which makes it considerably easier to see what you’re doing.

To see a basic tutorial on what I’m talking about, see my tutorial under the pinned topics in the “Tips, Tricks and Tutorials” section under the heading, “Wheel Arch Molding Foiling Tutorial”.

This technique has taken a great deal of frustration out of the foiling operation for me. ?

Thank you Steve @StevenGuthmiller.

I have seen some of your work and it's very very beautiful.

Thank you for the suggestion for you technique in foiling.

I will certainly give your suggestion a try, and let you know how it works out.

I'm sure I will do better. Thanks for the help.

Have a great 4th of July weekend.

This one is looking fantastic too Dave. All of your work is just beautiful, such clean creative builds. You sir have an impeccable eye and taste for automotive design and the skill set to match. Every one of your builds is beautiful, can't wait to see this one finished.

Nice work and your foil work looks fine.  I just used bmf for the first time a couple weeks ago.  It does take a keen eye and steady hand and I have neither.
