Hello!

Time for my traditional year end modeling poll. I've been away from the workbench for over 3 weeks now and it is very unlikely I'll be back soon, let alone finish anything. So my Class of 2008 is set. You can vote for your favorite and I'll compare the results with my own ranking.

Ladies and Gentlemen: My CLASS of 2008:

Dan Gurney's 1968 Indy 500 Olsonite Eagle

ya Right, like some one can pic the best one out of those..

For the style of cars I like it is a tough toss up.

It's like asking a parent which is there favorite child.

Even the one that stands out as My favorite build is tough.

They are all Great and Beautiful builds.

Can you till I could never be a Judge? LOL.

But I will pic One (really, only one?)

IMSA Corvette GTP

Awesome build and Gorgeous looking car.

Another sincere vote for the IMSA Corvette GTP. An outstanding replica of a fine automobile, very well done. The 1933 Chrysler Imperial Indy Pace Car is an extremly close second in my own humble opinion. It's a tough choice without being able to see them all for myself, with my own eyes. The're all very nice builds and someday I hope to be within your league. Well done my friend!!!

Tough choice...I like the Corvette GTP and the Caddy best, but went with the Caddy because of the clean look and an understanding of the conversion. The best thing to me is the fact that they are all different. They show a wide range of style and subject matter. All excellent as usual.

That's a fairly large class of hot models. I only got one done this year and compared to yours, "it has a great personality".

I couldn't go past the sunoco inspired camaro. I like the look of the old school race cars, but with the modern twist to it, it was just excellent.

Well done on a great 2008, can't wait to see what 09 will bring.

You must include "None Of The Above" as an option. . . in order for me to cast my vote. . . ;)

Use the "Write-in" area of the ballot :P

Hard to say, they're all good in their own way...

so I went with the one that interests me the most, subject-wise...

'33 Chrysler.

Birth Year??? :lol::lol::lol:

Is, they all look great! But my loyalty to the Big Caddy done sealed my vote! I Do like the GTP Vette, and the 33 Chrysler.Aww Heck, I like em ALL!!!

I don't have any specific plans for 2009. But given the current state of affairs, it seems it will be a very tough year at work and very busy personally. So it seems modeling will be limited. I only currently have Danica's 2005 Indy car and the helicopter I'm working on. Other than that just a bunch of ideas, including several Corvettes and some other aircraft projects.

Thanks all for the response! At the end of the month I'll compare the results with my own rankings.

Thanks,

WOW!

OK, I'll take the credit for starting this "tradition" of posting all the models done in the year. I've been doing it for years back in the Hobby Heaven board and here since 2006.

I'm very glad to see others jumping in!

Your votes on my models are a bit different than my own rankings.

You voted:

IMSA Corvette GTP (25 votes)

1933 Chrysler Imperial Indy Pace Car (21 votes)

triple tie for third between Gurney's Eagle, Cadilllac STS-V and Concept Camaro (12 votes each)

no votes for the rest.

My ranking is:

Corvette IMSA GTP

Dan Gurney's Olsonite Eagle

1933 Chrysler Imperial Indy Pace Car

Penske Camaro (very close to the Pace Car)

white 1981 Corvette

Cadillac STS (almost tied with the Vette)

Villeneuve's FW-19

The Star Wars thingy and the 1/43 are not even worth mentioning.

Thank you all for your time, your support and your comments. It was a good modeling year. Unfortunately 2009 doesn't look that good. With new added responsabilities at work, a busy life and my recent shift towards aircraft models, I'm not sure what cars if any I'll finish this year.

Thanks,
