The Modeling Hermit Posted October 26, 2021 Posted October 26, 2021 I have several of these Impala SS & Supernatural kits sitting around, so I like to dig them out and try experimentations upon them. This one has been approached as a mild street custom, with emphasis on the paint. I first laid down a coat of Copper, followed by light Silver fogging to highlight accent lines. I then sprayed Gloss Custom Red. For drama, I added Pink Champagne color shift paint, giving it somewhat of a crushed glass affect. That was followed by three coats of Wet Look Clear, with wet sanding between each coat. It was buffed out with Meguiar's polishing compound, and finished with Meguiar's Gold Class Carnuba paste wax. Unfortunately, my fogging is not evident in the photos; even moving it outdoors for natural light photos didn't help.
Zippi Posted October 26, 2021 Posted October 26, 2021 That's a good looking Impala Douglas. That color just pops. Looks nice and smooth with the shaved door handles.
espo Posted October 26, 2021 Posted October 26, 2021 Great looking paint finish and the color looks like a Metal Flake in the photos. From what I can see the interior looks nice as well. Any engine details ?
happy grumpy Posted October 26, 2021 Posted October 26, 2021 A nice color, your hard work paid of. Some colors are more difficult to photograph, I can attest to that, even with natural light . The white interior makes it pop even more Great work. I like it
