theraif Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 watching some put one of the kits together on line and we all know the chassis is real basic , so wondering how close the pro/stock pro/mod kit chassis are to fitting the vega body .
mikemodeler Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 The wheelbase would have to be adjusted. Best bet would probably to start with the 66 Nova PS chassis and trim to fit.

It might be easier to use the tubs and front sub from the nova onto the vega chassis. Edited November 10, 2021 by Scott8950
Plowboy Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 About the closest P/S P/M chassis you'll find for the Vega would be the one from the Revell Pro Street Beretta, J-2000 or Corvette. Revell reissued the Beretta some years ago. So, it should be easy to find on ebay.
Mark Posted November 11, 2021 Posted November 11, 2021 You wouldn't want the Nova, as the suspension at both ends would be all wrong. A lot of pro street Novas even ditch the stock front suspension, and some even lose the leaf spring rear setup. The Revell Beretta is based on the Dobbertin J-2000, which was first built with a solidly mounted rear axle (no suspension whatsoever). That was the version Revell used as the basis for the kit. The 1:1 car was later altered to incorporate a vestigal rear suspension, but is still incapable of being driven anything like a street driven (or even drag raced) car. The kit chassis might be workable with smaller rear tubs and some sort of suspension.
