IH Transtar 4070a

Recommended Posts

Finally got some time after my move to finally start building again.
Only thing that i did not like with this kit was the gigant spruemount points on the backside of many parts.
Other then that it was a fun build.

The yellow reflecting in the chromeparts is just my jacket.

Nice looking Transtar.  Sure is a bright jacket you're wearing.

Thanks.
Yes it is bright but it is a high vis jacket that i am wearing when i am outside and at work so i can be seen when i am moving around when it is dark outside.

Great looking rig, always loved this kit, after several AMT kits this one showed me how good kits could be. Love the chassis length on this too.

This was one of the better one from AMT that i have built, but being all new it should be better then reissues from the 70's where there are more guesswork then looking at the instructions.

I was not sure about the purple metallic i choose for it but i think it looks good in it
There are a few thing i still need to fix on it but for now i am calling it done.

When I  built it some time ago this was  an ERTL kit, something I'd never heard of in GB. I then got the Transtar conventional and about three of the Great Dane reefers with the chrome bulkhead. They were beautiful kits too!
