NOBLNG Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 (edited) Does anyone have a line on a really good quality push drill. I really liked the one at the bottom of the pic. It would take anything from a #80 (.0135”) up to a little bigger than a #61 (.039”) and had a nice small chuck on it. The spring broke, so I bought a $12 cheapy on Amazon (top pic). It needs two collets to span that range and the whole nose end is big and clumsy. I’m not interested in one of those little battery operated ones. Thanks, Greg. Edited January 2, 2022 by NOBLNG
jaymcminn Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 Micro-Mark sells a good one. I used it to drill 300+ tiny holes in my 1/12 Fiat Mefistofele for styrene rivets.

I can’t speak to the quality, as I do not have that type of drill. Maybe Sunward Hobbies?
NOBLNG Posted January 10, 2022 Author Posted January 10, 2022 Thanks Jason and Steve. The Micro Mark one looks very similar to the one on the left in my pic. It does look like a nice one. The shipping is a killer though. I have removed the shorter broken piece of spring from mine and stretched out the remainder and it is working satisfactory for now. If it fails again I will have to bite the bullet and order one.

To ba you can't take the spring from one and put it on the other one.

And in just a couple of days! I don’t know how the top end is attached, but I don’t see any way for it to come apart.

Once I flipped the end of the spring outside the spiral core….I rotated it and it screwed itself right off…and back onto the other one.? Good as new!
