carsntrucks4you Posted January 5, 2022 Author Posted January 5, 2022 (edited) I‘m sorry I think I did a big mistake! I had a conversation with Pete J about the solution of this quiz and I didn‘t noticed that it wasn‘t a private message. I very sorry for blowing this quiz up ?????? This quiz is closed due to my failure, I‘m sorry guys. It is a 1935 Tatra T77A Edited January 5, 2022 by carsntrucks4you
peteski Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 Oh well, finally the one I knew and the quiz is closed. I didn't see any solutions in any messages. But when I PM'd Michael my answer I almost sent a public message (whatever that it) by accident. Maybe that is what Michael did with Pete J? I don't even know where I can read public messages.
Pete J. Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 Ok, This whole series of messages has me confused. How does one send a PM that is private vs public? A tutorial would be nice so it doesn't happen again. I don't think I did anything different than I have done every other time. Like Peter, Not sure how to send or view a public message.
peteski Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 Normally I just hover my cursor over the user's name, and when the popup with the user's info shows up I just click on "Message" button to send a PM. But this time, instead of clicking on the "Message" button, I clicked on the member's name. That brought me to a page with a summary of that members info. There, on top there also is a "Message" (PM?) button, but lower, under the Activity tab there is a "Write public message on member's activity feed". That is probably the "public" message. I guess the messages listed under that tab are public. Up to this point I never looked at any of those.
SSNJim Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 I use the "all activity since my last visit" stream, and I see all those type messages. I saw this one, and many other interesting ones. A lot of people wishing happy birthday, sending mailing addresses and the like. I haven't seen anything too private or embarrassing :). I don't do anything to see them; I really have no interest in the ones sent to other members, and I don't like seeing them. They just show up in my activity feed. There's obviously some confusion between the two message types. I for one would like to see the difference clarified.
