Can cars get offended (possibly herbie)? its not people being talked about, its objects so the terms aren't offensive for this subject

I get what you're saying, to which, I agree. But in this case, Pete was simply being facetious - a little joke pointing out the very same subject you brought up.

You guy's were both speaking from the same side of the podium! Just different presentations.

I personally, enjoy a little humor in my sarcasm.
