You cured the biggest issue of the kit by ditching the very poorly done Ford SOHC engine and the replacement blown small block looks perfectly suited. I also really like the color choice. I used Brilliant Orange as an accent color on one of my models and will use it for the main color when the right project comes along. Thanks Dennis. It's not a bad kit but it does take some thinking. The Brilliant Orange is a nice color.

Zippi Posted March 7, 2022 Author Posted March 7, 2022 (edited) I got the body wet sanded and polished. Also got the front and rear lights and the decals on the doors installed. Edited March 8, 2022 by Zippi 4
mustang1989 Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 This is looking great so far Bob. I first saw this kit in the Revell "Saints" line up and have always wanted it despite how difficult of a kit it is to build. Even back then it had a reputation as being a kit that needed alot of work. Looks like you're whuppin' her in to some good shape here.

Two major issues I ran into were getting the rear end set in the correct position and getting the tilt front end to line up with the body when it is closed. There are other issues but those two were the worst. 1
mustang1989 Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 I feel your pain brother. I built the '54 Panel Wagon from Revell's 1983 "Street Demons" release. What an unbelievably terrible kit. I pretty much got what I wanted the build to look like and felt pretty fair when the build was all said and done but MAN......talk about alot of work to get there. But then again......that's modeling.
